"Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky. ” ― Kahlil Gibran
For nearly 150 years Americans have celebrated trees by planting more of them each Arbor Day.
As a department, the Lake County Parks has a deep appreciation for trees. Is there a greater legacy to leave behind for future generations than a tree planted today?
Arbor day tree planting
Be a part of leaving that legacy by joining us on Friday, April 27th at 9:00 a.m. as we celebrate Arbor Day at the Big Maple Lake area of Deep River County Park.
We have trees ready to go in the ground, and you can help make that happen! Professional staff will help coach volunteers of all ages on tree-planting best practices, so you will not only leave with a sense of satisfaction that you have planted something that will last for decades, but you'll also walk away with valuable skills for planting trees at your own home.
We'll provide the trees, and refreshments and will have some tools available for loan. Please, if you have them, bring your own work gloves and shovel.
Big Maple Lake is located at 7302 Ainsworth Road in Hobart.
