Pre-School in the Park

Pre-school in the park is designed for ages 5 and under along with their families, each program listed below offers a unique way to get outside and learn about nature or history.  Each Preschool in the Park session at Deep River County Park  includes a story time, in addition to a hands-on activity or craft. These programs taking place on Wednesdays at 10 AM from September 5 -October 31 are free and registration is not required. These programs are designed for families and individuals, if interested in a group reservation call 219-947-1958.

Make a sunflower craft and learn fun facts about this native flower.

An Apple a Day

September 26 at 10 AM

See how apple butter was made 100 years ago and make an apple print painting. 


Paws in the Park

Look for animal tracks around the park and make an animal track painting

Quilting the A, Bee, C's

October 3 at 10 AM

Learn about park quilts and make a quilt picture.

Waiting for Wings

September 19 at 10 AM

See the life of a butterfly with the help of a caterpillar craft.

Little Red Hen

Get messy and help us work at the mill.

Make a kid friendly campfire with your hands.
