More than 300 species of native plants are found at Gibson Woods, including a variety of rare and unique species. Join a park naturalist for a walk through the preserve to learn more about our native flora. Comfortable shoes and insect repellent are recommended.

Butterflies come in all sorts of sizes and colors, but monarchs are probably the most recognizable. Explore their life cycle and the magical lives they live. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188. Homeschool, scout , and other groups are welcome to attend, but families must register individually.
